Job summary

Toqua is seeking a hands-on AI Engineer in Ghent to build LLM-based agentic features that optimize shipping fuel and emissions. You’ll design, implement, and ship end-to-end components, collaborating with researchers and product teams to turn blue-sky ideas into real product features.

You’ll work with Python/FastAPI, React and Azure, integrating agents into customer workflows, setting up monitoring and guardrails, and continuously improving model usefulness and reliability.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with LLMs and agents; prompting, RAG, tool calling.
• Strong software engineering skills; Python, Git; cloud web services.
• Nice to have: OpenAI APIs, retrieval/evaluation tooling; maritime affinity.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship agentic features end-to-end across Python/FastAPI, React and Azure.
• Integrate the agent into real customer workflows and improve accuracy.
• Set up evaluation, monitoring, and guardrails for the agent and production models.
• Shape the product by solving real customer pain points with agentic or related solutions.
