Job summary

Compagnie des Ciments Belges (CCB) is seeking an Electrical & Automation Engineer to support Cementir Group plants across multiple countries. The role focuses on standardising systems, driving automation projects, and building local team capabilities.

You will work with high-voltage plants, industrial drives, PLCs (Siemens/Schneider/ABB), and SCADA, while collaborating with process and energy teams on improvements and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Automation Engineering.
• 3–5 years in cement plants or heavy industry with automation, electrical maintenance and project management.
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage power systems and electric drives.
• Hands-on PLC programming experience (Siemens/Schneider/ABB) and SCADA proficiency.
• Experience with industrial weighing, dosing and material handling systems.
• Experience in project management and cross-functional teamwork.

Job description

You join the Cementir Group Electrical & Automation team and support our plants in several countries, on their electrical and automation projects as well as their critical maintenance. You work on both new-build (greenfield) and modernisation (brownfield) projects. You standardise systems from one plant to the next and help local teams build their skills. You report to the Group Electrical & Automation Manager and work hand in hand with the electrical and automation teams at each site.

Your responsibilities

Support to Group plants

• Support Cementir plants in several countries on their electrical and automation topics
• Standardise electrical and automation systems across sites
• Set up benchmarks between plants on electrical and automation performance
• Strengthen the electrical and automation skills of site teams
• Support the rollout of Group projects and initiatives, and ensure they are properly implemented in every region and business unit

Projects and performance

• Manage electrical, automation and digitalisation projects across Group plants
• Optimise automation systems in line with industrial best practices
• Work with the Process team to meet automation requirements
• Lead energy management and energy efficiency activities on site
• Support CAPEX Project Managers in defining electrical and automation specifications, then in monitoring execution

Your profile

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Automation Engineering
• 3 to 5 years of experience in cement plants or heavy industry, in industrial automation, electrical maintenance and project management
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage power systems, electric motors, frequency converters and field instrumentation
• Hands-on experience in PLC programming (Siemens, Schneider, ABB), process control and SCADA systems
• Familiarity with industrial weighing, dosing and material handling systems
• Ability to diagnose failures, carry out root cause analysis and improve processes
• Project management experience with genuine field practice
• At ease working with production, maintenance and engineering teams
• Willingness to work at heights and in confined spaces when needed
• Fluent English required; French is an asset
• Available for frequent travel to Group plants, up to 50% of the time internationally
