Keet, based in Belgium, is seeking a Product Engineering Lead to scale a global peer-to-peer messaging and video-calling product. You will head API and frontend teams, balance product strategy with hands-on decisions, and drive security, privacy, and performance at massive scale.

You will partner with product leadership, shape architecture, and mentor engineering leads while owning technical direction and delivery across distributed systems.

Formación

• Proven experience leading consumer-facing software engineers or engineering leads.
• Strong product sense and ability to distill valuable product opportunities from complexity.
• Deep proficiency in JavaScript and React for frontend decisions.
• Understanding of distributed and local-first systems, offline-first operation, and eventual consistency.
• Ability to partner with product leaders and contribute to product strategy.
• Experience setting engineering standards and improving team execution.
• Initiative, curiosity, resilience, and comfort in fast-moving environments with autonomy.
• Strong communication and feedback skills.

Responsabilidades

• Lead API and frontend engineering teams day-to-day, removing blockers and ensuring momentum.
• Maintain high standards for performance, reliability, maintainability, and clean API design.
• Own technical design of product features and API boundaries between core and frontend.
• Collaborate with API engineers and specialized teams on architecture and changes to the engine.
• Partner with Product Managers to translate roadmaps into technically viable initiatives.
• Challenge scope and propose alternatives to improve feasibility and impact.
• Apply distributed-systems perspectives to product decisions and identify P2P opportunities.
• Encourage rapid experimentation with AI-assisted development and prototypes.
• Create clarity around objectives, responsibilities, priorities, and success metrics.
• Mentor engineering leads to strengthen processes and collaboration.
• Lead by example, contributing technically when needed while enabling team ownership.
