Job summary

Freshfields in Brussels is seeking an ambitious mid-level associate for its People & Reward practice. You will advise global employers on Belgian and international employment, pensions, benefits and data privacy issues.

The role involves coordinating multi-jurisdictional projects, drafting transactional documentation, advising on remuneration and stock plans, and contributing to business development within Freshfields' international network.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of relevant employment law experience.
• Belgian law degree with excellent academic records.
• Post-graduate degree in employment, labour or social law is a plus.
• Fluent in English and Dutch; good command of French.
• Comfortable with modern legal technology and AI tools to enhance daily work.

Responsibilities

• Advise international and domestic clients on Belgian and cross-border employment matters.
• Coordinate multi-jurisdictional employment law projects across Freshfields' global network.
• Draft transactional documentation and advise on due diligence and corporate transactions.
• Advise on executive remuneration, pensions, benefits, and equity incentives.
• Contribute to business development, client pitches and know-how development.
