Job summary

DWI Consulting is seeking an experienced GIS Functional & Technical Lead to bridge business stakeholders, end users and technical teams. You will steer daily GIS operations, translate requirements into functional specs and guide adoption of Esri technologies including the Utility Network and modern web apps.

You will facilitate workshops, coordinate multiple stakeholders and ensure clear communication across IT and business.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced GIS Functional & Technical Lead to act as the key link between business stakeholders, end users and technical teams. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day operations of the GIS team, ensuring business requirements are translated into effective technical solutions while coordinating activities across the team.

This role combines functional leadership, technical understanding and operational coordination. You will play an important part in supporting the organisation's adoption of modern GIS technologies, including Esri Utility Network, Feature Services and modern web applications.

You will facilitate workshops, support end users, coordinate stakeholders and ensure smooth communication between business and IT. You will also translate business requirements into functional specifications and follow their implementation throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven experience in a GIS Functional Lead, GIS Team Lead, GIS Consultant or similar position.
• Strong understanding of GIS technologies, applications and business processes.
• Experience with Esri Utility Network, Feature Services and modern GIS web applications.
• Ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications.
• Experience coordinating technical teams and working with multiple stakeholders.
• Understanding of GIS integrations, incident management and performance-related issues.
• Experience supporting GIS implementations, transformations or technology rollouts.
• Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A proactive and coaching-oriented approach to team leadership.
