Job summary

Pauwels Consulting in Brussels is seeking a senior geospatial technical expert to join the geospatial product team.

You will bridge business needs and technology, act as the technical reference, and own the design, integration and maintenance of strategic software products. The role requires ArcGIS Enterprise/Online/Pro experience, Azure, .NET and modern cloud/container skills, and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in GIS solution design and operation within Esri ArcGIS ecosystem.
• 5+ years in solution architecture, including functional design, data modelling, and fit-gap analysis.
• Experience with geospatial data integration and automation using FME.
• Hands-on with .NET and SQL Server; Azure cloud experience.
• Proven ability to translate business needs into technical specifications.

Our client, a key player in the energy sector, is looking for a technical expert to join their geospatial product team. This role involves acting as a technical reference to bridge business needs and technology, ensuring the successful design, integration, and maintenance of strategic software products.

• Serve as the technical lead for the product lifecycle, taking ownership of all technical aspects of both custom and off-the-shelf solutions.
• Translate complex business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications while challenging existing workflows.
• Lead the implementation and configuration of geospatial products and integrated custom components.
• Oversee the build and deployment of solutions based on modern cloud and backend technologies.
• Coordinate with internal platforms and external suppliers to ensure adherence to security and technology standards.
• Perform technical evaluations and fit-gap analyses during software selection and procurement processes.

• You have 8+ years of experience in GIS solution design and operation within the Esri ArcGIS ecosystem, including Enterprise, Online, Pro, and APIs/SDKs.
• You bring 5+ years of experience in solution architecture, including functional design, data modelling, and fit-gap analysis.
• You possess extensive experience with geospatial data-integration tools such as Safe Software FME for spatial data transformation and automation.
• You have experience developing and integrating components using Microsoft technologies like .NET and SQL Server.
• You possess hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• You're a holder of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• You're proactive, autonomous, and comfortable managing multidisciplinary stakeholders.
• You're fluent in Dutch and/or French with a strong command of English.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with Vertigis Studio or Vertigis Integrator.
• Knowledge of the electricity or energy sector.
