General & Tax Accountant at SABCA Brussels (company with over 100 years of experience in aerospace).

Mission

Manage the company’s general and tax accounting activities, ensuring the reliability of financial data, compliance with Belgian accounting and tax regulations, and providing support for financial closings and audits.

Responsibilities

• Manage general accounting from A to Z (daily entries, bank transactions, accruals, intercompany accounts).
• Perform monthly, quarterly and annual closings.
• Prepare financial statements in accordance with BEGAAP standards.
• Manage VAT filings and support corporate income tax (ISOC) declarations.
• Monitor, analyse and justify general ledger accounts.
• Manage fixed assets and depreciation.
• Contribute to internal control and the improvement of accounting processes.
• Provide support during internal and external audits.

You are responsible for

• Ensuring compliance with the EN9100 quality standard and the ISO 14001 environmental standard.
• Performing rigorous self-checks to guarantee the quality and conformity of the work.
• Transferring your skills and knowledge to new team members to foster a culture of continuous learning and mutual support.
• Complying with safety, health, and environmental rules.
• Reporting risks and applying procedures to prevent incidents.

Profile

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or an equivalent qualification.
• Desired experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in general accounting and taxation within a corporate environment.

Skills

• Soft Skills: Demonstrate rigour, strong analytical skills, a high level of autonomy and recognised reliability in carrying out responsibilities.
• Technical: Solid knowledge of general accounting, VAT, corporate income tax (ISOC) and BEGAAP standards, comfortable working with an ERP system such as SAP.
• Languages: French (required), professional proficiency in English, knowledge of Dutch is an asset.
• IT skills: Comfortable working with an ERP system such as SAP, good command of Excel, able to produce reliable financial reporting in a structured and compliance-driven environment.
