Umicore in Olen, Belgium, invites a PhD-qualified Process and Product Development Manager to advance our germanium substrates. You will build essential expertise on substrates and wafering, improving existing processes and co-developing new ones with suppliers, customers and R&D partners.

In this international role you will coordinate testing, drive industrialization, interact with end customers, and report results.

Qualifications

• PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science or related field.
• Able to understand process integration flows and perform hands-on development.
• Works well in an international context and communicates clearly.
• Experience with data analysis; knowledge of statistical software a plus.
• Excellent reporting and project management skills.
• English required; Dutch knowledge or willingness to learn preferred.

Responsabilités

• Develop current and next-generation germanium substrates.
• Build expertise on substrates and wafering processes.
• Improve processes and develop new processes with suppliers and partners.
• Set up testing, select and procure tools for industrialization.
• Improve production flow with new processing steps.
• Interact with end customers to understand needs.
• Lead development projects within defined framework.
• Report on R&D contributions in public-funded projects.
• Summarize results in reports and presentations.
• Coordinate knowledge transfer to ensure timely industrialization.
