Job summary

EngiFlex BV is seeking a seasoned SAP FS-RI Functional Consultant for our Belgium operations. The role focuses on end-to-end analysis of reinsurance processes, solution design, and configuration within SAP FS-RI to deliver solutions aligned with business requirements.

You will analyze stakeholder requirements, design solutions, configure FS-RI components, and document specifications while coordinating with business users. Fluency in English is essential; French is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years dedicated experience in reinsurance business processes.
• 3 years hands-on experience with the SAP FS-RI reinsurance solution.
• Experience as a functional FS-RI consultant with configuration responsibilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret business requirements from reinsurance stakeholders and translate into SAP FS-RI solutions.
• Design system solutions based on identified requirements.
• Agree on solution setup with business stakeholders.
• Configure core SAP FS-RI components including company codes, currencies, treaty management and loss/reserve processing.
• Design and document functional specs for reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements and forms (RICEF).
• Conduct unit, integration and UAT testing.
• Provide third-level support for complex incidents and problem resolution.

Tasks and responsibilities

Role overview

This SAP FS-RI Functional Consultant role combines the end-to-end analysis of reinsurance processes with solution design and configuration in the SAP FS-RI module. You will apply your knowledge of reinsurance business processes, SAP configuration and functional analysis to deliver solutions aligned with business requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and interpret business requirements from reinsurance stakeholders, including Underwriting, Claims and Accounting, and translate them into effective SAP FS-RI solutions.
• Design system solutions based on the identified requirements.
• Discuss and agree on the solution setup with business stakeholders.
• Configure the core SAP FS-RI components, including:
  • Basic system settings, such as company codes and currencies.
  • Treaty management, including treaty master data, coverage and shares.
  • Assumed and ceded reinsurance setup.
  • Bordereaux processing and accounting rules.
  • Loss and reserve processing.
  • Sub-ledger functionalities and interfaces with SAP FICO/GL.
• Design and document functional specifications for reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements and forms (RICEF).
• Conduct unit, integration and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Provide third-level support for complex incidents and problem resolution.

Required qualifications and experience

• Deep knowledge of reinsurance business processes, including proportional, non-proportional and facultative reinsurance.
• Expert configuration skills in SAP FS-RI.
• Strong understanding of integration points with SAP FICO, FS-CD and SAP ECC/S/4HANA.
• Excellent business analysis and requirements-gathering skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• A minimum of 3 years of dedicated experience in reinsurance business processes.
• A minimum of 3 years of dedicated, hands-on experience with the SAP FS-RI reinsurance solution.
• Experience as a functional FS-RI consultant with configuration responsibilities.

Language requirements

• Good English is required.
• French is a plus.
