Nexeo seeks a Senior Functional Analyst to translate business requirements into robust data solutions across Business, Finance, Data Engineers, Architects and IT. You will design, validate and implement data-driven processes within the Energy / Utilities context.

You will own data quality, testing, documentation and stakeholder management, ensuring accurate month-end close. Fluency in French, Dutch and English is desired in a global, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Functional Analyst, Data Analyst or in a similar position.
• Proven experience in Functional Analysis.
• Experience in Energy / Utilities sector is mandatory.
• Experience with Finance, financial closing or reporting is strongly appreciated.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear and supportable technical solutions.
• Proactive, hands-on and comfortable working autonomously.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, particularly during month-end financial closing periods.
• Strong discipline regarding documentation, data quality and controls.

• Investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis and coordinate corrective actions.
• Document and maintain functional specifications and data governance.
• Bridge between Business, Finance, Operations, Data and IT; facilitate workshops.

Your Responsibilities

Functional Analysis & Solution Design

• Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications and sustainable technical solutions.
• Analyze business needs and translate them into data and functional requirements.
• Collaborate with Business, Finance, Data Engineers, Architects and IT teams to design appropriate solutions.
• Configure and enhance data processing workflows in collaboration with technical teams.
• Contribute to functional changes involving Dataiku, SQL, data transformations and data quality controls.
• Analyze and adapt SQL queries, data models and reconciliation logic according to evolving business requirements.
• Validate technical implementations against functional specifications and business expectations.

Business Rules & Process Management

• Act as a subject matter expert for business rules, calculation logic and data processes.
• Document and validate allocation, metering, pricing and reconciliation processes.
• Ensure consistency of business logic across source systems and reporting solutions.
• Challenge existing processes and identify opportunities for simplification and optimization.
• Translate business decisions into clear, structured and auditable specifications.

Data Quality & Controls

• Define, document and maintain data quality controls and reconciliation rules.
• Implement preventive and detective controls within the data ecosystem.
• Analyze data quality issues and identify their root causes.
• Define thresholds, monitoring mechanisms and exception management processes.
• Ensure data traceability and documentation to support audit readiness and financial reporting.

Testing & Validation

• Coordinate functional testing activities.
• Define test scenarios, test cases and acceptance criteria.
• Support business testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Validate results against expected business outcomes.
• Analyze defects and coordinate corrective actions with delivery teams.

Documentation & Knowledge Management

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date functional specifications.
• Document business rules, calculation logic, test scenarios and traceability.
• Ensure effective knowledge transfer to Run and operational teams.
• Contribute to a robust and auditable documentation framework.

Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

• Act as the bridge between Business, Finance, Operations, Data and IT.
• Facilitate workshops and meetings to clarify requirements and business processes.
• Challenge requirements and propose data-driven solutions.
• Provide analytical insights to support business decisions.
• Work effectively with both local and international teams.

Your Profile

• 3+ years of experience as a Functional Analyst, Data Analyst or in a similar position.
• Proven experience in Functional Analysis.
• Previous experience in the Energy / Utilities sector is mandatory.
• Experience with Finance, financial closing or reporting is strongly appreciated.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
