Job summary

Twipe, Leuven-based tech scale-up serving newspapers in Europe and the US, is scaling its frontend to support growth, performance, and reliability. As a Frontend Tech Lead, you will take technical ownership of our Frontend in React and React Native, shaping architecture and engineering standards while remaining hands-on in the code.

You will lead technical decisions, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Product and Customer Success to design, build, test, and deploy high-quality software.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience, with strong frontend expertise.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading code reviews.
• Experience building large, scalable systems with high availability.

Responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of frontend (React / React Native), including architecture, system design, performance, scalability and reliability.
• Stay hands-on in the code, contributing to complex features and solving challenging technical problems.
• Lead technical decisions and establish frontend engineering best practices across our frontend.
• Collaborate with Product, CustomerSuccess, and fellow engineers to design, build, test, and deploy high-quality solutions.
• Coach and mentor frontend engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
• Ensure our codebase remains clean, maintainable, well-tested, and well-documented.
