Job summary

Twipe, a Leuven-based frontend scale-up, is seeking an experienced Frontend Tech Lead to own the frontend architecture in React and React Native. You will shape engineering standards, stay hands-on, and mentor the team to deliver scalable, high-quality software for top newspaper publishers in Europe and the US.

Qualifications

• 5+ years backend engineering experience with frontend focus
• Master’s degree in CS or equivalent
• Experience mentoring engineers and raising engineering standards
• Experience building large, highly available systems
• Strong relational DB and cloud experience
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code and CI/CD
• Understanding of secure coding and automated testing

Responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of Frontend (React / React Native), architecture and reliability
• Stay hands-on in code, build complex features and solve challenges
• Lead technical decisions and establish frontend engineering standards
• Collaborate with Product and Customer Success to design, build, test and deploy high-quality solutions
• Coach and mentor frontend engineers through guidance and code reviews
• Ensure codebase remains clean, maintainable, and well-documented
• Drive integrations with external systems (APIs, authentication, content distribution)
