Twipe in Leuven, Belgium seeks a senior frontend-focused engineer who can take technical ownership of our Frontend (React / React Native) and drive architecture, performance, and reliability across complex digital publishing platforms.

You will stay hands-on, mentor engineers, lead code reviews, and collaborate with Product, Customer Success, and other engineers to design, build, test, and deploy high-quality solutions while advancing engineering standards and best practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience with frontend expertise, preferably in React/React Native.
• Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated track record mentoring engineers, leading code reviews and raising engineering standards.

• Lead technical decisions and establish engineering best practices across the frontend.

• Coach and mentor frontend engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
• Ensure our codebase remains clean, maintainable, well-tested, and well-documented.
• Drive integrations with external systems, including authentication, authorization, APIs, and content distribution.

Twipe is a mediatech scale-up based in Leuven, Belgium working with leading newspaper publishers in Europe and the US to grow their digital subscribers and sustain quality journalism. We offer cloud based digital edition publishing, analytics, and personalization solutions. Our innovative solutions accelerate the growth of newspapers including Le Monde, The Telegraph and the various titles of Mediahuis (De Standaard, Het Nieuwsblad, De Telegraaf,…).

• A track record of mentoring engineers, leading code reviews, and raising engineering standards within a team.
• Experience building and evolving large, complex systems with high availability, scalability, and performance requirements.Strong experience with relational databases and cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and modern DevOps practices.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, secure coding practices (OWASP), automated testing, and maintainable software design.
