Metheion Technology & Engineering Consulting is seeking a frontend architect to lead the development of a new software product designed to optimize AI inference in production. You will own the UI from concept to MVP, focusing on usability and performance while collaborating with design to translate complex UX into a production-ready interface.

You will lead the front-end development of a new software product designed to optimize AI inference in production environments. Starting from a clean slate, you will take ownership of architecting and building the application through to its first MVP, with a focus on an intuitive and efficient user experience.

In this role, you will work hand in hand with the design team to translate complex UX and UI concepts into a highly functional, production-ready interface. While there is some flexibility with technology and your input is expected to help establish the final architecture, the team has a strong initial preference for TypeScript, React, and TanStack to build a robust, scalable, and modern foundation for the product.

This position is offered through an engineering consulting company. You will be employed by the consulting company and assigned to the client’s project.

Assignment: 6 months with a possibility of prolongation

Contract: Permanent (payroll) or freelance (B2B), based on your preference

Visa: Visa support is available only for candidates already residing in Belgium. If you are applying outside of Belgium, you must have EU-wide work authorization.

Work arrangement: 3 days on-site, 2 days flexible

Responsibilities

• Build out the front end of a new software product used in production to optimize AI inference.
• Drive the frontend architecture and development from a clean slate to the first MVP.
• Collaborate closely with our designer to work out, refine, and implement the UX and UI.
• Evaluate, select, and establish the core front-end technology stack and coding standards.
• Write clean, maintainable, and highly performant code using modern frameworks.
• Integrate front-end components seamlessly with backend APIs and AI services.
• Ensure the application is fully responsive, accessible, and optimized for speed and scalability.
• Set up front-end testing, identify and troubleshoot bugs, and deliver a stable, production-ready product.

Main requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a front-end developer in a production environment.
• 3+ years of UX/UI design in a production environment.
• Strong practical familiarity with modern UX/UI principles and implementation.
• Hands-on experience with TypeScript, React, TanStack, or other similar modern front-end technologies.

Other requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Design, or equivalent proficiency gained through experience (an extra 2-3 years of frontend work experience).
• Representation bonus of €140–€200 per month (payroll).
