Job summary

EngiFlex BV in Puurs, Belgium seeks an External Business Project Lead to drive end-to-end SAP S/4HANA implementation, from initiation to go-live and handover to operations. You will ensure governance, alignment across teams, and disciplined execution in a regulated environment.

You bring at least 9 years’ experience in large IT/ERP projects, with strong PM skills, budget ownership, vendor management, and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related field
• At least 9 years of professional experience in IT, ERP, digital transformation or SAP projects in complex international environments
• Strong project-management expertise including scope, risk, issue, dependency and stakeholder management
• Experience with budget ownership, financial governance, procurement processes, and vendor contract follow-up
• Ability to lead cross-functional/matrix teams and influence stakeholders at multiple levels
• Familiarity with project management methodologies, governance frameworks, reporting standards and delivery best practices
• Clear communication at operational and executive level, including presentations and reporting for senior leadership
• Understanding of security, compliance, quality and regulatory requirements in enterprise tech delivery

Responsibilities

Business Job Title: External Business Project Lead - SAP S/4HANA Implementation

Role Purpose

In this role, you lead the local business team and take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of an SAP S/4HANA implementation, from project initiation through deployment and handover to operations. You ensure clear governance, strong alignment across teams, disciplined execution, and delivery of the agreed business outcomes within a regulated environment.

Major Accountabilities

• Lead the full delivery of the SAP S/4HANA project, from initiation to go-live and transition to operations.
• Set up project governance and oversee scope, risks, issues, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations.
• Steer the project to completion on time, within budget, and in line with quality standards and expected business results.
• Manage project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, statements of work, procurement activities, and change requests.
• Drive resource planning and utilization using established project management methods, tools, and delivery practices.
• Provide clear reporting through status updates, project documentation, KPIs, and executive-level communication.
• Work closely with business stakeholders, digital and IT teams, cross-functional partners, and external vendors to support successful execution.
• Maintain compliance with security, quality, regulatory, HSE, and governance requirements throughout the full project lifecycle.

Your profile

• You hold a bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• You bring at least 9 years of professional experience, including a strong track record in managing large-scale IT, ERP, digital transformation, or SAP projects in complex international environments.
• You have solid expertise in project management, including scope, risk, issue, dependency, and stakeholder management.
• You have experience with budget ownership, financial governance, procurement processes, and vendor contract follow-up.
• You can lead cross-functional and matrix teams and influence stakeholders across multiple levels of the organization.
• You are familiar with project management methodologies, governance frameworks, reporting standards, and delivery best practices.
• You communicate clearly at operational and executive level, and you are comfortable preparing presentations and reporting for senior leadership and steering committees.
• You understand security, compliance, quality, and regulatory requirements linked to enterprise technology project delivery.
