Job summary

Be Welcome is seeking an experienced freelance Legal Expert in Belgian immigration and social security to manage specialized legal counsel for companies and expats in international employment scenarios.

You will handle high-level advisory work, case management, and close coordination with clients and government authorities, staying current with evolving migration rules across regions and at the federal level.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Law (Belgium)
• Proven expertise in Belgian immigration & social security law
• Trilingual fluency in Dutch, English, and French (written and spoken)
• Strong organizational skills, client-centric mindset, and independent decision-making abilities

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level advice on Belgian immigration, work permits, and social security.
• Prepare and submit applications for single permits, work permits, professional cards, visas, family reunification, and residence permits.
• Liaise with clients, expats, Be Welcome colleagues and government authorities to ensure smooth timing and expectations.
• Stay fully up-to-date with changing regional and federal migration legislation.

About the Role:

As our freelance Legal Expert, you will provide specialized legal counsel and manage immigration cases for companies and expats in international employment situations.

• Legal Advice & Strategy: Provide high-level advice on Belgian immigration, work permits, and social security.
• Case Management: Prepare and submit applications for single permits, work permits, professional cards, visas, family reunification, and residence permits.
• Client & Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise closely with clients, expats, internal Be Welcome colleagues and government authorities to ensure smooth timing and expectations.
• Legislative Tracking: Stay fully up-to-date with changing regional and federal migration legislation.

What We Are Looking For:

• Master’s degree in Law (Belgium).
• Proven expertise in Belgian immigration & social security law.
• Trilingual fluency in Dutch, English, and French (written and spoken).
• Strong organizational skills, client-centric mindset, and independent decision-making abilities.
• Professional experience in an international environment or as a former expat is a plus.
