BDO Belgium seeks an experienced Freelance IT Technical Lead to act as the technical counterpart of a software delivery partner, guiding design, integration and delivery of a large-scale technology platform.

You will bridge business stakeholders, internal teams and external vendors, challenge technical decisions, safeguard solution quality and ensure architecture aligns with long-term objectives. Fluency in Dutch and English is required, with 5+ years in leadership roles.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Technical Lead, Solution Architect or Senior Software Engineer.
• Strong experience in complex software development and integration projects.
• Solid knowledge of APIs, microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Proven experience reviewing and governing technical deliverables from external software vendors.
• Good understanding of software architecture, system integration and enterprise application landscapes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and software quality practices.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.

Responsabilités

• Review and challenge technical analysis, solution designs, architecture documents and data models delivered by external partners.
• Ensure proposed solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable and aligned with enterprise architecture principles.
• Monitor technical quality throughout the entire delivery lifecycle, from requirements and design to testing, deployment and production.
• Define and uphold quality standards regarding architecture, development practices, testing, documentation and deployment processes.
• Lead technical discussions with internal and external stakeholders and provide guidance on complex technical topics.
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for business analysts, domain experts and project stakeholders.
• Coordinate with infrastructure, security, data and other technical teams to ensure successful solution delivery.
• Identify risks, challenge assumptions and proactively drive technical decision-making.
