EBA CLEARING is seeking a FPAD Specialist to develop and maintain fraud detection models for FPAD functionality. You will analyze data, build features, and model fraud across Europe while collaborating with banks and payment providers.

The role emphasizes data science, model optimization for performance, and working in a regulated financial environment. Location option includes Brussels or Frankfurt with flexible work arrangements.

Qualifications

• University degree in computer science, mathematics or a related field.
• At least three years of experience in a quantitative role in fraud or risk at a bank or PSP.
• Good knowledge of data science and data engineering, preferably Python.
• Experience optimizing models for response time in a regulated environment.

Responsabilités

The position

The FPAD Competence Centre (FCC) is responsible for the development and maintenance of fraud detection models for EBA CLEARING FPAD functionality. This requires data analysis and modelling as well as a good understanding of fraud developments and the needs of our users, supporting them in understanding FPAD functioning and results and help investigate specific cases.

As a member of the FCC team your responsibilities will include:

• monitoring model and data quality in production
• finding new emerging fraud characteristics by exploring the vast transaction data underlying our FPAD solution
• building new features that help detect fraudulent transactions
• developing state-of-the-art AI models against billions of historical transaction
• creating documentation and charts to explain your work to our users
• sharing insights with experts from financial institutions across Europe
• staying up to date with latest trends in fraud detection and drive the development of our solution

The profile

The basics:

• University degree in computer science, mathematics or a related field
• At least three years of experience working in a quantitative role, in a fraud or risk environment at a bank or payment service provider
• Good knowledge of data science and data engineering, preferably with python
• Especially experience with
• Experience to optimise models on response time
• Working in a highly regulated environment
• Domain knowledge in payment data
• Full proficiency in English, any additional European languages would be an asset
