For Ageas, diversity and inclusion is a business imperative, providing us with the foundation to achieve sustainable business results across different markets.

Ageas has been re-certified as Top Employer in 2026.

The vibrant Ageas Corporate Centre in Brussels is home to a variety of Group level functions including, amongst others, Risk, Finance, Legal & Compliance, Investor Relations, Human Resources, Strategy, Business Development and Corporate Communications. It sets out the long term strategy for Ageas and coordinates numerous initiatives across the Group to help realise the strategic ambitions. The Corporate Centre also facilitates knowledge and skills sharing amongst its local operating entities and JV’s, creating strong connections and leveraging on local strengths. It represents the Ageas Group towards external parties, managing relations with analysts, retail and institutional investors, regulators, rating agencies and the media.

The FP&A team

The FP&A team is part of the Group CFO department and is organised around Group performance management, planning and forecasting, and strategic financial analysis. The team works closely with the businesses and with key Corporate Centre functions like Risk, Finance, Strategy, Capital Management,… to enhance a culture of “financial excellence”. In order to align our internal partnership role and our external communication on performance, outlook and key messages, the team collaborates in particular closely with Investor Relations.

Your role

Your responsibilities include among others:

  • Group-wide planning & steering: Lead the Group’s multi-year financial planning and target-setting processes. The FP&A Manager consolidates inputs from all business segments into an integrated plan and steers forecast cycles at the Group level. They assess overall performance against budget and strategic targets, pinpointing which parts of the business are driving or dragging Group results.
  • Executive performance reviews: Prepare and deliver high-level performance reviews for the Executive Committee and Board of Directors. This involves distilling complex financial data into a clear, strategic message. For example, in quarterly closings, the FP&A Manager presents not just the numbers, but the story of how the business is performing relative to the strategy, and recommends actions or decisions (such as reallocating capital, adjusting forecasts, or initiating performance improvement plans).
  • Strategic insight and challenge: Act as a senior sparring partner to local CFOs and Group executives. The FP&A manager leverages detailed analysis and external benchmarks to challenge business segments on their strategies and performance. For instance, they might question an OpCo’s growth projections if peer benchmarks and market trends suggest otherwise, backing up the challenge with data. They also identify structural issues or risks (e.g. persistently high costs, lagging top line growth) and bring these to management’s attention early.
  • Benchmarking and external perspective: Drive peer comparisons and industry benchmarking at the Group level. The FP&A Manager regularly analyzes competitor and market data to evaluate Ageas’s performance. By highlighting areas where competitors excel or where the Group is leading, they provide an external perspective that informs strategic decisions.
  • Leadership and mentorship: Take initiative on high-impact projects that span across departments (such as performance improvement initiatives or major finance transformations). They often chair cross-functional project teams and ensure that outcomes align with performance goals. Additionally, FP&A Managers mentor and steer other team members, raising the overall level of the FP&A function. They are role models who promote a strong performance culture and drive change when needed.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Represent the FP&A team in interactions with other corporate functions – Strategy, Investor Relations, Risk, Accounting, Capital Management, etc. The FP&A manager makes sure that performance insights are incorporated into strategic projects (like strategic planning) and that financial realities are considered in all major decisions. They also communicate executive decisions and strategic priorities back to the FP&A team, ensuring alignment.
  • Leadership of governance processes and executive support: Shape and lead the FP&A contribution to key Group governance forums, including CFO Committee, Risk-Finance events, Business Committee, Executive Committee, and strategic performance discussions. Define the key messages, challenge conclusions and recommendations, ensure alignment across business segments, and support executive decision-making through clear and forward-looking insights.
Your profile
  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Economics, Business Engineering, Commercial Sciences or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in FP&A, performance management, business controlling, corporate finance or management reporting, preferably in insurance or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of financial planning, IFRS reporting principles and key insurance performance drivers; knowledge of IFRS 17 and Solvency II is a strong asset.
  • Able to translate complex financial information into clear insights, strategic messages and actionable recommendations for senior management.
  • Strong analytical mindset, business judgement and ability to challenge assumptions constructively.
  • Excellent executive communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Acts as a role model and change agent, with the drive to coach others and contribute to a forward-looking FP&A culture.
