Job summary

Dexter is seeking a Founders Associate to partner directly with the founders, shaping go-to-market and growth systems in a fast-moving AI-driven spend intelligence startup. You will translate ambiguous problems into clear plans, run experiments, and build scalable automation to accelerate sales and product decisions.

You’ll work closely with the founders, identify attractive market segments, and design actionable strategies that drive measurable outcomes across sales, product, and strategy.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of high-performance experience in startups, consulting, VC, or finance.

Job description

[**Dexter**] is the AI-native spend and contract intelligence platform for complex enterprises. Big enterprises spend hundreds of millions, sometimes billions, every year buying things from suppliers, but most of them have no clear picture of what they're actually paying for. We use AI to read their contracts and invoices, and turn that messy data into clear insights, so they can immediately find savings.

Procurement is a fascinating function - responsible for huge amounts of spend, managing strategic supplier relationships and negotiations - yet is overlooked when it comes to technology. We’re here to bring them into the AI era.

We went through **Y Combinator** in 2024, and have been growing since then. Now we're looking for a Founders Associate to work directly with the founders and help us scale go-to-market, with a strong focus on growth experimentation and using AI and automation to move faster than teams ten times our size.

**Your Role**

As Founders’ Associate, you’ll operate as an extension of the founding team. You’ll take ambiguous, high-priority problems, turn them into clear plans, and drive them through to measurable outcomes.

You’ll identify attractive market segments, build growth systems, run commercial experiments, and translate what we learn into improvements across sales, product, and company strategy.

You'll also build the automations that make all of this scalable - we believe in using every tool at our disposal (AI, no-code automation, whatever works) to punch above our weight.

This is not a traditional support role. You’ll be trusted with substantial context and responsibility, expected to form your own point of view, and held accountable for results.

What You’ll Own

• Run and iterate on our outbound and lead-generation engine, from target-account strategy and messaging to execution, measurement, and iteration.
• Identify and prioritize customer segments and ICPs using customer conversations, market research, and quantitative analysis.
• Design and execute growth experiments across channels, partnerships, events, and creative commercial initiatives, and make clear recommendations based on the results.
• Build AI-enabled and automated workflows that increase the speed, quality, and scalability of customer research, prospecting, outreach, call analysis, and reporting.
• Develop decision-ready analyses, operating plans, and materials for strategic company and founder-level decisions.
• Act as a thought partner to the founders: challenge assumptions, identify problems early, and proactively propose solutions.

Who We’re Looking for

• You have 1–3 years of high-performance experience in a demanding environment such as a startup, consulting, VC, or finance. We care more about your trajectory and demonstrated ownership than a specific background.
• You're a self-starter who doesn't wait to be told what to do. You see a problem and find a solution.
• You are commercially minded. You are curious about customers, comfortable engaging senior stakeholders, and motivated by building a repeatable growth engine.
• You're genuinely excited about AI and automation. You've experimented with tools like Claude, ChatGPT, n8n, or similar, or you're the kind of person who will teach yourself over a weekend.
• You are comfortable switching between strategic thinking and hands-on execution. No task is beneath you, but you consistently look for ways to make recurring work more systematic and scalable.
• You communicate clearly and concisely, whether writing an analysis, building a presentation, or speaking with a prospective customer.
• You thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and are excited about building something from the ground up.
• You are fluent in English and German.
