Description du poste

Role Overview

As a FinOps Practitioner, you will be a key enabler focused on maximizing the value and efficiency of our cloud investment. You will drive cloud financial excellence, partnering with engineering, finance, and delivery teams while overseeing FinOps governance. Your role bridges diverse viewpoints, connecting, for example, the infrastructure‑provisioning engineer with the finance stakeholder reviewing the cloud bill and the cloud architect optimizing workloads with the budget decision‑maker.

Your mission is not only to reduce cloud spend but to champion a culture of financial accountability and cost‑conscious engineering across the organization. You will translate business objectives into formal FinOps‑driven policies within platforms, tagging standards, and governance frameworks. By triggering and assisting deep‑dive root‑cause analysis on cost anomalies and overruns, you will storyline findings to IT Platform and Product Owners, bringing transparency to our cloud economics and acting as a cost provocateur when necessary to drive excellence.

Your role and responsibilities
Insight Generation & Cloud Cost Analysis
  • Perform deep‑dive root cause analysis to understand drivers of cloud overspend, whether architectural, process‑related, or governance gaps.
  • Document findings and quantify the business impact of cost inefficiencies, effectively storylining the analysis to support prioritization and remediation efforts.
  • Conduct thorough cost profiling on managed accounts to identify waste, anomalies, rightsizing opportunities, and commitment coverage gaps.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Standard Setting
  • Foster cross‑functional collaboration by working closely with IT engineers, delivery leads, and client finance teams to define, document, and enforce clear FinOps rules, tagging standards, and cost allocation models.
  • Translate business and commercial requirements into technical specifications that enable automated cost controls, budget alerts, and governance guardrails in cloud environments.
  • Act as the key liaison between technical and non‑technical audiences, ensuring a shared understanding of cloud financial principles and their impact on the business.
Monitoring & Reporting
  • Develop and maintain cloud cost dashboards and showback reporting to provide ongoing visibility into the health and performance of managed accounts.
  • Drive shared cost allocations.
  • Monitor actively FinOps KPIs over time—including savings delivered, forecast accuracy, unit economics, commitment utilization—and report findings to leadership and clients.
Optimisation & Continuous Improvement
  • Work with IT engineering and architecture teams to define and execute cloud cost optimisation initiatives spanning Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, rightsizing, scheduling, and waste elimination.
  • Maintain a view on contractual commitment coverage towards the cloud reseller (e.g., DoiT, Elastic, Oracle).
  • Support delivery and client teams in improving cloud provisioning and resource management practices at source, instilling a proactive cost‑prevention mindset.
  • Continuously evaluate FinOps tooling and practices to improve the team's efficiency and the quality of insights delivered to clients.
How to succeed / Your profile
  • Foundational understanding of cloud computing layers—specifically IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS—and a strong commitment to mastering the FinOps discipline.
  • Experience of 1 to 3 years in a cloud‑related or financial role with a clear affinity for technology and data.
  • Ideally, a FinOps Certified Practitioner or a drive to obtain this certification shortly after joining.
  • Capability to assist in developing sophisticated cloud financial models, including budgeting, forecasting, and total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis.
  • High level of comfort working with cloud billing tools and reporting platforms to extract and interpret complex usage data.
  • Natural curiosity driving deep‑dive root‑cause analysis whenever cost anomalies or budget overruns occur.
  • Ability to translate broad business objectives into structured policies, tagging standards, and governance frameworks.
  • Meticulous eye for detail ensuring cloud economics are transparent and financial insights are based on accurate, well‑governed data.
  • Proficiency in turning raw data into compelling talk storylines that help IT platform and product owners understand the value behind their cloud spend.
  • Bridge all departments, successfully connecting the technical world of infrastructure engineers with the financial world of budget owners.
  • Comfortable acting as a “cost provocateur” who respectfully challenges the status quo to guide the organization toward smarter, more sustainable cloud usage.
  • Clear and inclusive communication style allowing management of stakeholder expectations and escalation of critical issues with professional grace.
  • Thrives in an entrepreneurial and fast‑growing environment, bringing a down‑to‑earth attitude that fits a family‑oriented, innovative culture.
  • Proactive advocate for a culture of financial accountability, leading by example to ensure cost‑conscious engineering becomes a standard practice.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent by experience) in Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • High‑level understanding of cloud computing services across its layers—IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS.
  • Basic familiarity with financial management principles—budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis—through work, study, or personal interest.
  • Comfortable querying, manipulating, and interpreting data sets to surface insights; experience with SQL, Excel, or similar tools valued.
  • Exposure to data visualization or reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or cloud‑native cost dashboards) is a plus.
  • Highly analytical and problem‑solving mindset, with a natural inclination to ask why costs look the way they do.
  • Strong communication skills, explaining financial and technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • FinOps Foundation certification (FOCP) or willingness to pursue it shortly after joining is a plus.
  • Fluent in English.

  • Opportunities for personal development through permanent guidance and professional (internal/external) training courses.
  • Fun afterworks and optional events.
