SGI is seeking a Freelance Senior Business Controller to support an international organisation on a 6-month contract from Belgium. You will partner with leaders to drive financial insight, manage budgets and forecasts, and oversee CAPEX and project-related reporting.

The role requires extensive business-controllership experience, strong commercial acumen, and fluency in Dutch. Immediate or short-notice availability is preferred for this freelance assignment.

Responsabilités

• Provide hands-on support to the finance team for day-to-day controlling activities.

Freelance Senior Business Controller | 6-Month Contract

We're currently partnering with a well-established international business seeking an experienced Senior Business Controller to provide interim support during a period of increased activity.

This assignment is ideal for a commercially minded finance professional who thrives in a complex organisation, enjoys partnering with senior stakeholders, and is confident managing multiple priorities across an international business.

What you'll be doing

Partner with operational and leadership teams to provide financial insight and support strategic decision-making.

Analyse business performance through reporting on actuals, budgets and forecasts, identifying trends and opportunities.

Produce meaningful KPI reporting and financial performance analysis across multiple business units.

Take ownership of investment tracking, CAPEX reporting and project-related financial oversight.

Support planning cycles, including budgeting, forecasting and financial reviews.

Help strengthen financial governance, reporting quality and internal controlling processes.

Provide hands-on support to the finance team, ensuring continuity across day-to-day controlling activities.

Contribute to ongoing finance improvement initiatives and business projects.

What we're looking for

Extensive experience in a Business Controller or Finance Business Partner position.

Previous experience working within large, international or multi-entity organisations.

Strong commercial awareness with the ability to translate financial data into business recommendations.

Experience supporting projects, investments or project-based financial reporting.

Confident working in a fast-moving environment with changing priorities.

Proactive, organised and capable of working autonomously while building strong relationships across the business.

Skills & Experience

Strong working knowledge of SAP

Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling and data analysis.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Language Requirements

Dutch (fluent) essential.
