Zero Friction in Belgium is seeking an experienced Finance Manager / Controller to own finance end-to-end. You will lead monthly close, budgeting, profitability analysis, and cash flow management, delivering a clear picture to leadership, down to individual customers.

You will build forecasts with the CEO and department heads, explain variances, manage working capital, invoicing across BE/NL/FR/UK, and continuously improve finance tooling with Deloitte as partner.

Qualifications

• Qualified finance professional with degree in finance, economics or accounting.
• Experience in financial controller or finance manager role in SaaS, services or scale-up environments.
• Strong accounting/controlling rigour with commercial sense.

Responsabilités

• Run the monthly, quarterly and annual close with accurate P&L, balance sheet and cash-flow reporting.
• Build the annual budget and rolling forecasts with the CEO and department leads; explain variances.
• Break down profitability to customer/contract level; combine SaaS metrics with cost-to-serve.
• Manage working capital and accounts receivable/payable to keep cash runway clear.
• Handle invoicing for BE, NL, FR and the UK across borders.
• Own finance tooling and processes; collaborate with Deloitte as partner.
• Prepare reporting packs and KPIs for leadership and the board; support fundraising with solid models and data.
• Create business cases and scenario models to evaluate financial impact of decisions.

We are looking for an experienced, fulltime Finance Manager / Controller to own finance at Zero Friction, end-to-end. You'll own reporting, budgeting, profitability and cash flow, and give leadership a clear picture of how the business is really doing, right down to the profitability of individual customers. We earn revenue through two different streams, SaaS subscriptions and outsourced services, each with its own cost structure, and keeping a clear view on profitability across both is a key part of the role.

Job requirements

Run the monthly, quarterly and annual close, and deliver accurate, timely P&L, balance sheet and cash-flow reporting

Build the annual budget and rolling forecasts with the CEO and department leads, and explain the variances in case

Break down profitability to the level of individual customers and contracts, combining SaaS metrics (MRR/ARR, gross margin, LTV) with cost-to-serve

Keep on top of working capital and accounts receivable/payable, so cash position and runway are always clear

Handle invoicing for customers across BE, NL, FR and the UK.

Own our finance tooling and processes, and keep improving them as the company grows and work closely together with Deloitte as our accountancy partner.

Put together reporting packs and KPIs for leadership and the board, and support fundraising with solid models and data

Build business cases and scenario models to weigh the financial impact of decisions, like entering a new market, changing pricing, or a new hire

Does this sound like you?

A qualified finance professional with a degree in finance, economics or accounting

Solid experience in a financial controller or finance manager role, ideally in a SaaS, services or scale-up environment

Strong combination of accounting/controlling rigour and commercial feeling: you close the books and explain what the numbers mean

Hands-on and self-starting, happy to both build the function and run it day to day

A clear communicator who makes finance understandable for non-finance colleagues

Fluent in Dutch and English

Comfortable with cross-border invoicing and VAT for customers in BE, NL, FR and the UK

Excellent financial modelling skills, and confidence with finance systems/ERP

Experience in energy, utilities or billing environments

Fluent in French
