Search X Recruitment is seeking a Field Engineer to oversee technical performance for a network of locations across the southeast of Belgium and Luxembourg. You will coordinate maintenance, manage budgets and drive safe, reliable operations through external contractors and internal teams.
You will bring a background in mechanical, electrical or electromechanical engineering, with experience in maintenance budgets, project coordination and multi-site environments.
A strong network of customer-facing locations relies on safe, reliable and well-maintained technical assets. You take ownership of locations across southeast of Belgium and across Luxembourg, ensuring maintenance, investments and technical risks are managed properly. Rather than carrying out repairs yourself, you coordinate contractors, set priorities and make sure every site remains safe, compliant and ready for the future.
Reliable locations do not happen by chance. They require someone who can oversee technical performance, maintenance, safety, costs and external partners across a large region. That is exactly where you come in. From planned maintenance and complex repairs to replacement investments, environmental projects and technical support for local operators, you keep the network moving. You know what is happening at your locations, where the risks are and what needs to be improved before it becomes a bigger issue. You bring structure to a busy technical environment, make clear decisions and keep multiple projects moving at the same time. If you enjoy combining technical knowledge with ownership, stakeholder management and real operational impact, this is your kind of role.
How can I help? As Field Engineer, you are responsible for the technical performance of a network of locations across the southeast of Belgium and across Luxembourg. The role combines maintenance coordination, technical investments and operational improvement, ensuring sites remain safe, compliant, reliable and properly maintained. This includes small modifications, replacement investments, technical upgrades, environmental and remediation projects, as well as the follow-up of complex repairs and damage cases. Working closely with contractors, suppliers, local operators and internal colleagues, you ensure activities are completed safely, on time and within budget. You monitor maintenance budgets, analyse costs and turn recurring issues or upcoming investment needs into clear priorities and practical improvements. You also prepare and follow up on legal inspections, support the internal maintenance function with technical expertise and help strengthen the reliability, performance and future readiness of the overall network.
You have a background in mechanical, electrical or electromechanical engineering, or equivalent technical expertise gained through relevant experience. Ideally, you have worked in a technical field role, maintenance environment, infrastructure setting or another multi-site operational context where safety, reliability, project coordination and external partners are part of the day-to-day work. You are able to manage several locations and projects at the same time, bringing structure, clear priorities and ownership when circumstances change quickly. Experience with maintenance budgets, contractors, technical investments and project management is highly relevant. Strong communication skills are essential, as the role requires close cooperation with suppliers, contractors, local operators and internal teams, as well as the confidence to challenge on quality, timing, safety and cost. A proactive, practical and solution-oriented mindset is key. You understand that strong technical performance is not only about resolving failures, but also about preventing recurring issues and improving the network over time. Fluent French and English are required. Dutch is an advantage, but not essential. Regular travel across the southeast of Belgium and across Luxembourg is part of the role.
You will receive a gross monthly salary up to € 6,000,- depending on your experience and background.
You will also benefit from a strong work-life balance, including at least 46 fully paid vacation days per year on a pro rata basis. Most of all, you step into a role with real ownership. You will be trusted to manage your region, make technical decisions and create visible impact across an established international mobility network.
