Albemarle in Belgium is hiring a Manager Regulatory Affairs, Europe for a hybrid role based in Louvain-la-Neuve. You will lead EU regulatory initiatives affecting lithium and bromine products, coordinate with internal functions, and report to the Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs, Europe.

The role requires at least five years in environment, sustainability, chemicals, or raw materials, with experience in European institutions or trade associations, and a Master’s degree.

Qualifications

• At least five years of experience in a relevant field such as environment, sustainability, chemicals or raw materials.
• Previous work experience in European institutions, trade associations, corporations or NGOs.
• Relevant experience in chemicals management, REACH, CLP, eco-design and/or circular economy.
• The working language is English.
• Knowledge of another European language would be an advantage.
• Experience providing counsel and timely information to business leaders.
• Background in the chemicals or raw materials industry, or in another relevant sector.
• Experience in project management would be an advantage.
• Strong analytical and drafting skills, with the ability to translate complex regulatory and technical issues into clear, business-oriented advice.

Responsabilités

• Monitor and assess EU regulatory developments relevant to lithium, bromine and related value chains.
• Translate complex regulatory developments into clear business implications for internal stakeholders.
• Work with the Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs, Europe to develop the company’s overall strategy on EU regulatory matters for lithium and bromine products.
• Take the lead on individual regulatory initiatives and projects.
• Engage with regulators, trade associations and other external stakeholders to explain Albemarle’s positions.
• Prepare internal briefings, position papers, consultation responses and advocacy materials.
