Job summary

Thales Group in Brussels is seeking an EU Defence Director to lead public affairs and key account management with EU institutions and agencies in defence. Based at the Brussels office, you will shape Thales' advocacy strategy and drive profitable order intake and funding capture.

You will build an Account Plan, coordinate with business units across the Group, monitor regulatory developments, and actively contribute to trade associations.

Qualifications

• 5 to 10 years experience in policy making or public affairs toward EU institutions.
• Strong understanding of EU defence regulatory matters.
• Experience in complex, high-value projects.
• International/institutional environment experience.
• Fluent in English and French (C1).

Responsibilities

• Act as “One face to the customer” on behalf of Thales by representing the Group in all discussions with EU institutions & agencies active in defence, and setting actions to develop trust between Thales and EU bodies.
• Build an Account Plan to define the strategy towards EU institutions & agencies active in defence, align this strategy with internal stakeholders and facilitate execution with business units and countries across the Group.
• Define and conduct the advocacy strategy towards EU institutions & agencies active in defence, monitor regulatory developments and coordinate positions, contribute to messages and action plans.
• Increase funding capture and order intake by understanding stakeholders, driving strategic initiatives, and coordinating internal capture teams to close opportunities.
