Job summary

Slaughter and May in Brussels offers a twelve-month stagiaire programme in our leading Competition group. The role is based in Brussels and stagiaires are hired as independent lawyers as part of our Belgian practice.

You will work with over 100 lawyers across offices, receive a rotating mentor, and have opportunities for inter-office secondments, including a potential secondment to our London office. Applicants should have EU qualification or be close, with a strong academic record, and fluent

Qualifications

Strong academic background and a demonstrable high level of analytical ability.
EU qualification, or currently obtaining your qualification in an EU Member State.
LLM in European competition law is preferable.
Fluency in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

Supporting the legal team on a range of competition law matters.
Conducting legal research.
Contributing to the drafting of documentation, such as client advice and submissions to regulators.
Attending client meetings and events, and drafting attendance notes.
Developing professional relationships with fee-earners, clients and other members of the Brussels competition law community.
