KU Leuven is seeking a postdoctoral researcher in epigenetics and hematopoietic stem cell biology. The role involves unraveling molecular mechanisms of epigenetic regulation and transcription factor activity in HSCs using advanced genomics and genome editing tools, with strong mentorship and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• PhD in molecular biology, hematology, epigenetics, stem cell biology or a closely related field
• At least 1 first-author publication in an international peer-reviewed journal (or paper in final revision)
• Experience with standard molecular techniques (qPCR, western blot, cloning)
• Experience with mouse handling (Felasa B certificate is a strong asset)
• Experience with mammalian cell culture and flow cytometry; HSC culture is an asset
• Experience with basic bio-informatic analysis; single-cell sequencing data is an asset
• Experience with chromatin profiling methods (ChIP-seq, CUT&TAG) is an asset
• Experience with CRISPR genome editing, CRISPR screening or base editing is an asset
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and in a team

Responsabilités

• Investigate how epigenetic regulation and transcription factor activity affect hematopoietic stem cells
• Apply ex vivo primary HSC culture methods, CRISPR genome editing, base editing and tiling CRISPR to study mutations
• Use single-cell transcriptomics and chromatin profiling to understand mechanisms
• Collaborate closely with Prof. Marlies Vanden Bempt's team and support fellowship applications
