KU Leuven’s lab for Experimental Hematology invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher to study the molecular regulation of hematopoietic stem cells and how epigenetic mechanisms drive pre-malignant conditions and hematologic malignancies.

The successful candidate will use ex vivo HSC culture, CRISPR genome editing, base editing, tiled CRISPR screens, single-cell transcriptomics and chromatin profiling, with extensive mentorship.

Qualifications

• PhD in molecular biology, hematology, epigenetics, or a related field.
• At least one first-author publication in an international peer-reviewed journal.
• Experience with standard molecular techniques (qPCR, Western blot, cloning).
• Experience with mouse handling (Felasa B certificate is a strong asset).
• Experience with mammalian cell culture and flow cytometry.
• Experience with basic bioinformatics; single-cell data analysis is an asset.
• Excellent written and oral English communication; strong collaboration skills.

Responsabilités

• Investigate how mutations in epigenetic regulators affect expansion of hematopoietic stem cells.
• Apply ex vivo HSC culture methods, CRISPR genome editing, base editing, and tiled CRISPR screening.
• Perform (single-cell) transcriptomics and chromatin profiling.
• Contribute to shaping the lab's scientific direction and provide mentorship and collaboration.
