Job summary

Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT), part of Danaher, is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist to support the Leuven site on-site. You will monitor EHS performance, lead investigations, and maintain ISO 14001 compliant documentation within a collaborative, continuous-improvement environment.

The role demands Dutch fluency and strong English, with experience in chemical handling/manufacturing environments, and a proactive approach to training and records management.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain records for the EHS management system and ISO 14001 documentation.
• Support and enhance Environmental Management Systems, waste management, and internal audits.

The Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist is responsible for supporting the establishment, implementation and continuous improvement of the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Program by maintain and enhancing EHS procedures, systems, training, equipment and documentation.

This position reports to the Environmental, Health & Safety Manager and is part of the EHS team located in Leuven and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Monitor and maintain EHS performance, including tracking key performance indicators and performing site tours. Facilitate in the preparation and reporting of EHS metrics.

• Lead incident investigations and perform root cause analysis using recognized methodologies (e.g. 5-why, fact tree analysis, …). Evaluate and develop corrective and preventative action plans and communicate with stakeholders.

• Communicate and build awareness of the EHS management system – including planning, coordination and facilitating onboarding and ongoing training for associates.

• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to the EHS management system.

• Support, maintain and enhance the Environmental Management System, including but not limited to waste management programs, chemical storage, internal audits, etc. (ISO14001 standard).

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Working knowledge of EHS regulatory requirements.

• Required Prevention Advisor level III, preferred level II.

• Preferred EHS experience in a chemical handling/manufacturing environment.

• Preferred knowledge of ISO Standards, ISO 14001 is a plus.

• Fluent in Dutch and proficient in English.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• ISO standards internal auditing programs.

• First aid and/or chemical spill cleanup.
