Ghent University invites applications for the Assistant English position in Translation, Interpreting and Communication. The role focuses on assisting in English proficiency courses and professional communication within several degree programmes.

The candidate should hold a Master’s degree in Translation/Interpreting or Multilingual Communication, with CEFR C2 in English and Dutch knowledge as an asset. A two-year appointment is offered, possibly renewed, starting Feb 1, 2027.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Translation, Interpreting or Multilingual Communication, Linguistics/Literature, with English as a studied language.
• Diploma equivalence if from outside EU (NARIC)
• Interest in academic or project-based research and services

Responsabilités

• Assist teaching activities in English-focused courses within multiple programmes.
• Support internal and external services of the department.
• Prepare and submit doctoral fellowship applications when eligible.
