Job summary

ENGIE Supply & Energy Management in Brussels seeks a Business Controller – Middle Officer to monitor daily P&L, perform monthly close, and bridge economics with accounting. You will work with Front Office and other controllers to ensure data quality and insightful reporting.

The role requires a Master’s in Finance or related field, strong Excel, SAP knowledge, and English/French fluency. You will contribute to continuous improvements, automation, and cross-border collaboration within Europe.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Finance, Economics or Engineering.
• Advanced Excel and data handling skills and working knowledge of SAP.
• Proficiency in PowerBi is considered a real plus.
• Fluency in both English & French.
• Strong analytical and synthesis skills.
• Rigorous yet pragmatic mindset.
• Proactive, curious and solution-oriented.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Interest in energy markets and commodities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure reliable daily P&L reporting and perform sanity checks. Explain and validate P&L with Front Office.
• Perform monthly closing & reporting, control postings in SAP and ensure data consistency, reconcile intercompany discrepancies and investigate variances; support auditors and ensure reporting quality.
• Carry out financial analysis & business support: deliver Monthly Business Reviews (YTD analysis, variances, KPIs), contribute to Budget and Mid-Term Plan processes, analyze working capital and cash flow and ensure data quality.
• Contribute continuously to transversal finance improvements by looking for standardizations and automations; interact with controllers in the Netherlands and France.
