recurv is seeking an experienced Data Engineer/Architect to own end-to-end data engineering and architectural work within a core program. You will translate business needs into robust data architectures and deliver practical data solutions that can be developed, optimised and scaled.

The role combines hands-on data modelling, ETL and process optimisation with collaboration across business users, program stakeholders and data teams, in a hybrid Brussels setting.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of data engineering experience
• Proven experience setting up or designing data architecture
• Hands-on background in data modelling, ETL and process optimisation
• Proactive, solution-oriented mindset translating business questions into technical answers
• French and English required; Dutch a plus

Responsabilités

• Translate business requests into data architecture and technical solutions
• Design, develop and model data flows, including ETL and automated processing
• Optimise existing processes and improve performance of data runs
• Support AML-related data work, including scenario and reporting needs
• Contribute to SAS migration agenda and potential SAS-to-Python conversion

HIGHLIGHTS

• USP: Play a key role in shaping a new data architecture for a strategic regulatory program, with both hands-on delivery and architectural scope

Your Role

You will take ownership of an end-to-end data engineering and architecture role within a company-wide visible project. The focus is on translating business needs into robust data architecture, then turning that architecture into practical data solutions that can be developed, optimised and scaled.

This is a hands-on role as much as an architectural one: you will work on data modelling, ETL, process optimisation and automated runs, while collaborating closely with business users, program stakeholders and other data teams.

Your Responsibilities

• Translate business requests into data architecture and technical solutions
• Design, develop and model data flows, including ETL and automated processing
• Optimise existing processes and improve performance of data runs
• Support AML-related data work, including scenario and reporting needs
• Contribute to the SAS migration agenda and possible SAS-to-Python conversion
• Work through a ticket-based intake process and collaborate directly with end users
• Partner with analytics, visualisation, predictive and programme stakeholders in a flat, cross-functional team

Who You Are

Must-haves

• 8+ years’ experience in data engineering
• Proven experience setting up or designing data architecture
• Strong hands-on background in data modelling, ETL and process optimisation
• Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to translate business questions into technical answers
• French and English is required for the working environment; Dutch is a strong plus

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AML, fraud or regulatory data work in a banking context
• Exposure to SAS environments and migration work
• Python experience, especially in a data engineering or migration context
• Background in financial services, particularly around transactions, accounts or reporting
