Darwin Recruitment is seeking an experienced Electromechanical Maintenance Technician for a major food production facility in Bree, Belgium. You will maintain automated production and packaging installations, minimize downtime and ensure safety compliance.
You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnose electrical and mechanical issues, and troubleshoot pneumatics, with a strong emphasis on food safety standards. Fluency in Dutch is required.
We are looking for an Electromechanical Maintenance Technician to join the technical team of a large, established food production facility in Bree.
This is a hands‑on position working across automated production and packaging installations, with responsibility for keeping machinery running and minimising production downtime.
Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery.
Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical breakdowns.
Troubleshoot electromechanical and pneumatic systems.
Work with motors, sensors, conveyors, packaging equipment and automated installations.
Perform technical repairs and component replacements.
Identify recurring faults and help improve machine reliability.
Support production during breakdowns and planned maintenance.
Work closely with other technicians, production teams and engineering.
Ensure all work meets food safety, quality and technical safety standards.
Technical background in Electromechanics, Mechatronics, Industrial Electricity, Automation or similar.
Previous experience as a Maintenance Technician, Electromechanical Technician, Service Technician or Storingsmonteur.
Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of pneumatics and industrial machinery.
PLC diagnostic/fault-finding knowledge is an advantage.
Experience within food & beverage, FMCG, packaging or manufacturing is beneficial.
Comfortable working in an industrial production environment.
Dutch-speaking.
