Job summary

EDR Antwerp Shipyard is seeking an electrician responsible for the maintenance and repair of mobile diesel generators (power packs) used on seagoing vessels. Work involves preventive maintenance, diagnosis, repairs, testing and on-board connections.

You will also supervise order, cleanliness and safety in the work area. You should have a technical affinity or education, speak good English, and be able to read electrical diagrams and identify components in cabinets.

Qualifications

• Requires a technical education or strong affinity with technology.
• Fluent/proficient in English; knowledge of other Eastern European languages is a plus.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and identify electrical components in a cabinet.
• Ability to stay calm, prioritize tasks and work accurately.
• Must be a team player with reliability and punctuality.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair mobile diesel generators (power packs) mounted in 20ft or 40ft containers on seagoing vessels.
• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, conduct repairs and testing.
• Handle on-board connections and testing during ship operations.
• Supervise orderliness, cleanliness and safety in the work area.

YOUR ROLE

As an electrician, you and your colleagues are responsible for the maintenance and repair of mobile diesel generators (power packs) that are used on board seagoing vessels. These are mounted in 20ft or 40ft containers and range from 250KVA to 1500KVA. This includes preventive maintenance, diagnosis + repairs, testing, connection on board ships,... You also supervise order, cleanliness and safety.

YOUR PROFILE

• You have a strong affinity with technology or you have had a technical education.
• You speak good English
• Do you also speak other (Eastern European) languages? That's definitely a plus
• You can read an electrical diagram and know the electrical components in a cabinet
• You can keep a cool head and set priorities.
• You work accurately and punctually.
• Obviously, you are a team player
• Occasional overtime and weekend work do not scare you.
