Job summary

Veolia Environnement SA is seeking an experienced EHS Leader to drive safety culture and compliance across our Belgian operations. You will lead the development and practical implementation of EHS policies and management systems, ensuring alignment with Veolia standards and local regulations.

You will advise on new projects, support field teams, and coordinate trainings. The role requires Dutch and English fluency, with French a plus, and experience with ISO 45001 and VCA in multinational

Qualifications

• Solid experience in a similar EHS role in industrial/service environments.
• In-depth knowledge of Netherlands EHS legislation.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; French is a strong asset.
• Proven experience with EHS management systems like ISO 45001 and/or VCA.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for all organization levels.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, solution-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example to drive a world-class EHS culture and meet safety objectives.
• Develop, maintain, and improve management systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, VCA).
• Ensure alignment with Veolia's internal framework and policies.
• Provide expert EHS advice for water treatment projects from design to commissioning (HAZOP, RAMS, safety by design).
• Act as EHS contact for service activities and support field operations.
• Lead safety events: risk assessments, safety walks, incident investigations, kick-off meetings.
• Respond to customer EHS requirements and audits.
• Develop and deliver targeted EHS training and manage the training catalog.
