Job summary

Umicore is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety Manager for our Bruges site. You will oversee all Health, Safety and Environment matters, combining Safety Prevention Advisor and Environmental Coordinator duties, and you will also be responsible for the Bruges plant security.

You will lead safety programs, ensure compliance with environmental permits and group standards, and represent the company in external associations.

Qualifications

Master degree in a technical field or equivalent
Officially accredited degree of Safety Prevention Advisor – level 1
Minimum 5 years of operational managerial experience
Solid knowledge of applicable legislation (regional, national, European)
Interest in chemicals and chemical processes
Strong communication skills and ability to influence at all levels
Ability to set up, present and defend a strategy and coordinate implementation
Strong project and people management skills, teamwork oriented

Responsibilities

Set up, implement and manage a safety strategy for the site and foster a proactive safety culture
Monitor and report safety performance metrics and KPIs
Implement and follow Umicore Group Standards
Be final responsible for EHBO teams and interventions
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and safety audits for chemical and process risks at UMSB
Maintain environmental permits and ISO14001 certification
Manage plant security and external Occupational Health Services relationships
Represent Umicore and USMB in sectorial organizations and with local government
