Job summary

Netwerk Belgium seeks an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Inspector for a large-scale project in the Port of Antwerp. The role focuses on safe, compliant E&I installations in a petrochemical setting, with field-heavy duties and a strong emphasis on documentation and QA.

You will verify drawings, datasheets and standards, inspect wiring, junction boxes, field devices and instrumentation, and coordinate with construction, QA/QC and commissioning teams to support pre-commissioning

Qualifications

• A technical degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Automation or related discipline.
• Several years of experience as an E&I Inspector, QA/QC Inspector or E&I Supervisor in an industrial environment.
• Experience in petrochemical, chemical, oil & gas or other process industries.
• Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation installation practices.
• Experience with ATEX / hazardous area installations.
• Familiarity with IEC standards and industrial E&I practices.
• Experience with inspection procedures, ITPs, punch listing and quality documentation.
• Ability to read single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, hook-ups, P&IDs and technical datasheets.

Responsibilities

• Inspect electrical and instrumentation installations during construction and completion.
• Verify installations against drawings, specifications, datasheets and standards.
• Check cable routing, trays, pulling and termination.
• Inspect junction boxes, field instruments, panels, switchgear and other E&I equipment.
• Check instrument installation, impulse tubing and hook-ups.
• Verify grounding, bonding and earthing installations.
• Perform and witness electrical and instrumentation tests.
• Follow up loop, continuity, insulation resistance and functional tests.
• Verify installations in hazardous areas for ATEX compliance.
• Review inspection/test records, punch lists and documentation.
• Identify non-conformities and follow up corrective actions with contractors.
• Support mechanical completion and pre-commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with construction, engineering, QA/QC and commissioning teams.
