Job summary

YO HR Consultancy is seeking a Dutch Language Specialist (SME) for an hourly, remote contractor role to review AI-generated Dutch content, provide precise feedback on accuracy, tone, and cultural suitability, and write high-quality rewrites and model answers in Dutch.

You will assess grammar, spelling, style, and consistency, compare responses, and help improve AI models across multiple domains. Native Dutch, strong English, and 3+ years of language work are required.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native Dutch proficiency (reading and writing).
• Strong professional proficiency in English (C1).
• 3+ years of language-focused work experience.
• Deep understanding of Dutch grammar, spelling conventions, punctuation, and style.
• Experience with Netherlands vs Belgian Dutch (Flemish) and noting differences.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI Training Content: Create prompts and gold-standard Dutch answers across multiple domains.
• Optimize AI Performance: Evaluate and rank AI outputs to improve fluency, correctness, tone match, and cultural appropriateness.
• Ensure Model Integrity: Detect unsafe or misleading content, factual hallucinations, bias, and policy-risk language.

Your profile

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Linguistics, Dutch/English Literature, Communications, Journalism, Translation, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• Native or near-native Dutch proficiency (reading and writing required).
• Strong professional proficiency in English (minimum C1) to follow guidelines and provide detailed feedback in English.
• 3+ years of professional experience in writing, editing, localization, translation, content QA, journalism, education, or related language-focused work.
• Deep understanding of Dutch grammar, spelling conventions, punctuation, and style - able to explain why something is wrong and how to fix it.
• Comfortable handling variation as needed: Netherlands Dutch vs Belgian Dutch (Flemish), including tone and vocabulary differences; please specify which you can support.
• High attention to detail when spotting subtle meaning shifts, awkward literal translations, hallucinated claims, or culturally mismatched phrasing.
• Reliable, self-directed, and able to deliver consistent quality in an hourly, remote contractor workflow across time zones.
• Prior experience with AI data training/annotation, translation QA, editorial QA, or rubric-based evaluation is strongly preferred.
