Van Dievel N.V in Mechelen is seeking a dispatcher to coordinate transport operations, dispatch drivers, and maintain clear communication with customers. You will be the first point of contact for drivers and clients, ensuring journeys run smoothly.

The role includes planning, order reception, scheduling, and providing timely feedback using customer software. A 3-month in-house training plus a permanent contract accompany a fixed shift pattern.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, distribution and transport or willing to acquire this knowledge

As a dispatcher, you’ll be the first point of contact for our drivers and customers. You’ll aim to ensure that journeys run smoothly and maintain excellent communication with customers. You’ll do this in a dynamic and challenging working environment with great colleagues.

Job Description

• Traffic management, dispatching and monitoring of transport, and communication with
  drivers,
• Operational and commercial contact with customers by telephone and email,
• Receiving orders and scheduling them,
• Administrative support for planning,
• On-call duty during nights and weekends on a rota basis (once every 5 weeks) following
  in-house training lasting at least 3 months,
• Providing feedback to customers (by telephone or via customer-specific software). In this regard,
  customer focus is key!

Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, distribution and transport, or willing and able to acquire this knowledge at Van Dievel in the short term.
• Working language: Dutch, with knowledge of French and English.
• Familiar with the PC (MO software package)
• Living within a 20km radius of Mechelen or willing to relocate there
• Willing to work with management and colleagues to improve the quality of transport services
