Organizational context: The Partnerships and Futures Group (PFG) strengthens UNOPS partnerships and builds knowledge, innovation, and foresight capabilities. The Brussels Partnerships Office (BPO) is PFG's hub in Brussels, focusing on strategic engagement with key partners like the European Union and EU Member States. BPO drives collaboration, manages portfolios, and enhances strategic communications to position UNOPS as a trusted partner for development and humanitarian initiatives.

Job purpose: The Director, Brussels Partnerships Office provides senior leadership, embodying UNOPS values and fostering a high-performing team. This role is crucial for managing and deepening relationships with key partners, driving partnership development, and identifying opportunities to scale up delivery for impact. As a senior representative, the Director reinforces UNOPS' reputation as a leading resource for expanding partners' implementation capacity. Accountable for growing the office's engagement portfolio, the Director ensures mission-led intent in partnerships and opportunity development, leading to increased partner satisfaction with UNOPS services and improved identification and conversion of opportunities.

Responsibilities: The Director is responsible for strategic alignment and direction, contributing to PFG strategy with insights from partner relationships and providing analysis on partner portfolios. They develop and implement key partner strategies, championing UNOPS' value proposition through networking and effective communication. The role involves engaging senior officials within partner organizations, representing UNOPS in external forums, and serving as the primary contact point for key partners. This includes leading consultations to understand priorities, managing risks, and developing global Framework Agreements. The Director also leads people management, fostering a culture of trust, diversity, and accountability, and ensuring the ethical use of resources. Additionally, they drive knowledge management and innovation by sharing best practices and contributing to continuous improvement in partner engagement.

Education: A Bachelor's degree with 12 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 10 years of relevant experience is required.

Work experience: Requires strategic and managerial leadership experience in international development, business development, operations, or program management within a large international organization. Experience in multicultural environments, the UN system, or developing countries is desirable.
