Job summary

Reynaers Aluminium is seeking a Development Expert for Sliding & Folding systems to drive new product development from ideation through market launch. You will translate complex technical challenges into practical solutions, prototype, and validate concepts with suppliers, while ensuring precise documentation for commercial rollout.

You’ll work with senior experts to ensure standards are met and projects are delivered on time, shaping the technical roadmap and mentoring trainees as you grow into

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Product Development, Science or Architecture; Master’s degree a plus.
• Strong technical background with knowledge of materials such as aluminium, steel, polymers and elastomers.
• At least 5 years of relevant technical experience and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
• Excellent command of English; Dutch and French are assets.

Responsibilities

• Drive development of new sliding and folding systems from ideation to market launch.
• Translate technical challenges into effective solutions and validate via testing and prototyping.
• Collaborate with suppliers to translate concepts into high-quality final products.
• Ensure documentation and product information are accurate for market introduction.
• Coordinate with senior experts to ensure compliance with technical standards and timely delivery.
• Report progress to Team Leader and escalate issues when needed.
• Contribute to the product roadmap with innovations and forward-looking concepts.
• Suggest workflow and process improvements to boost efficiency.
• Coach trainees as you grow into a senior expert.

What you’ll do

As a Development Expert, you’ll be the driving force behind the development of new systems with a focus on sliding and folding solutions. From ideation to market launch, you make innovation happen.

Your responsibilities include:

• You follow-up closely the planned development projects with regard to planning, quality (technical aspects), product price, master the risks and take the necessary measures in case of problems, and this from PRD phase (product requirements definition) up to and including Launch.
• Translating technical challenges into effective, efficient solutions and validating them through hands‑on testing and prototyping.
• Collaborating with suppliers to transform concepts into high‑quality final products.
• Ensuring that all documentation and product‑related information is accurate, complete, and ready for market introduction.
• Working closely with senior development experts to ensure that all Reynaers systems comply with technical standards and are delivered on time.
• Reporting progress clearly and regularly to the Team Leader and escalating issues when necessary.
• Contributing to the technical product roadmap by identifying innovations, improvement opportunities, and forward‑looking concepts within your Sliding & Folding expertise.
• Suggesting and implementing workflow and process improvements to enhance overall development efficiency.
• Coaching and guiding trainees as you evolve into a senior expert.

Who You Are

• You have a strong technical background and sound knowledge of product design and manufacturing technologies involving materials such as aluminium, steel, polymers, elastomers, and rubber.
• Experience with sliding and/or folding systems, aluminium systems, or the construction industry is considered a strong advantage.
• You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Product Development, Science, or Architecture; a Master’s degree is a plus.
• You have at least 5 years of relevant technical experience.
• You work accurately, are cost-conscious, and maintain a high standard of quality.
• You are proactive, solution‑oriented, and eager to contribute to technical innovation, with other words you are a problem solver.
• You are a strong communicator and an effective team player.
• You have an excellent command of English; knowledge of Dutch and French is an asset.
• You possess solid skills in AutoCAD 2D, Inventor, and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
