Catalay is seeking a design engineer to develop HVAC systems as part of integrated building management systems, based on project specifications and drawings, with a focus on energy efficiency and indoor air quality.
You will prepare P&IDs, data point lists, and execution documents while coordinating with programmers and installation teams on site in Brussels.
Our client provides smart technologies for buildings, including comfort systems that regulate the temperature and humidity of the air in buildings. To further develop this business, the team is looking for an design engineer. You carry out technical project studies and design HVAC systems as part of integrated building management systems, ensuring energy efficiency and the required indoor air quality.
Design HVAC systems as part of integrated building management systems, based on project specifications, measurements and drawings.
Prepare piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), data point lists, design specifications, equipment selections and execution documents.
Monitor technical progress and quality, and report on them to your manager and the project manager.
Pass execution documents on to programmers and check that the programming meets the project requirements.
Hold technical discussions with installation companies and end clients, and contribute to procedures and standards.
A bachelor’s degree or an industrial engineering degree in electromechanics, HVAC or automation.
Thorough knowledge of HVAC, applicable standards and installation techniques.
Knowledge of Dutch and an understanding of English.
Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Office and Visio.
An interest in programmable logic controller programming, automation, energy efficiency and renewable energy.
Desirable, but not essential: knowledge of AutoCAD.
Employer: You are employed by Catalay and work within our client’s engineering team on technical project studies, under the direction of a project manager.
Location and attendance: You work at the client’s site in Brussels.
Induction period: You benefit from a three-month induction period to familiarise yourself with the tools and processes.
