Job summary

ThoughtLabs Belgium is seeking an Analytics Engineer to design and develop scalable data transformation pipelines and optimise dbt project performance in a Belgian context.

You will implement robust data quality checks, automate regression tests, and document complex transformations while collaborating with data engineers and stakeholders to migrate legacy logic to modern architectures.

Qualifications

• Hands-on dbt core for designing and maintaining analytics transformations.
• Experience with SQL for complex transformations and performance tuning.
• Experience with PySpark for large-scale data processing.
• Familiarity with Iceberg, including partition/schema evolution and time travel.
• Exposure to CI/CD practices and Git workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop transformation pipelines for scalable data workflows.
• Optimize execution times of dbt projects.
• Implement and document data quality checks and control tests.
• Set up automatic regression tests and validation procedures.
• Share best practices within the team about managing dbt projects.
• Translate business analysis documents into operational pipelines.
