Job summary

XTEL, a leading global revenue management solutions provider, seeks a Data Scientist in Leuven. You will design analytics solutions, build scalable data pipelines, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust ML models and standardized analytics practices.

The role focuses on preprocessing data, developing models, and deploying solutions within a hybrid work environment in Belgium. Strong Python and ML framework experience is essential, with English proficiency required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in STEM fields (Math, Statistics, CS, Engineering)
• 3–6 years of experience in Data Science and Analytics
• Knowledge of ML/AI and Operations Research
• Strong Python skills and ML frameworks (scikit-learn, PyTorch, pandas, NumPy)
• Experience with object-oriented programming
• Experience with cloud services to build pipelines and run analytics
• Experience with Databricks
• Familiar with VSCode or IDEs and Jupyter notebooks
• Knowledge of Git (push, pull, fetch, merge)
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and communicate results clearly
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills
• Proficient in English

Responsibilities

• Analyze and preprocess complex data sets from various sources for analytics solutions.
• Develop, implement, and tune machine learning models for project needs.
• Collaborate to build robust and scalable data pipelines.
• Participate in client meetings to discuss results and gather feedback.
• Work with business experts and the project manager in multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior team members.
• Collaborate with product team to integrate solutions into products.
• Document processes and support standardization of analytics practices.
