Job summary

Fujitsu in Brussels seeks a Data Scientist specializing in NLP to work on a European institution project. You will design and optimise AI/ML models, work with LLMs and Transformer architectures, and build scalable Python-based solutions.

You will apply tokenisation, NER, classification, and topic detection, fine-tune models for domain applications, and collaborate with diverse teams to deliver high-quality AI solutions while evaluating model performance and communicating insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, ML or related field.
• Proven experience in ML, NLP, and text mining.
• Strong Python skills with libraries such as Pandas, spaCy, NLTK, Hugging Face.
• Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Hands-on with LLMs, pre-trained models, Transformer architectures.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, MongoDB).
• Understanding of scalable ML architectures, model deployment, GPU optimisation, experimentation.

Responsibilities

Fujitsu is looking for an experienced Data Scientist specialising in Text Mining / NLP to join a project for an EU Institution in Brussels.

What will you do?

• Fine-tune pre-trained models for domain-specific applications.

• Contribute to ML architecture, model performance optimisation, and AI solution integration.
• Conduct experiments, evaluate model performance, and communicate insights through reports and data visualisations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality AI/ML solutions.

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor’s degree with a focus on Statistics, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field
• Proven experience in Machine Learning, NLP, and text mining.
• Strong Python skills and experience with libraries such as Pandas, spaCy, NLTK, and Hugging Face.
• Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, pre-trained models, and Transformer architectures.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, or MongoDB.
• Understanding of scalable ML architectures, model deployment, GPU optimisation, and experimentation techniques.
• Experience with AI-powered coding assistants, such as GitHub Copilot or Amazon Kiro.
• Knowledge of data visualisation, unit testing, continuous code delivery, and ML bias mitigation.

Nice to have:

• EU citizenship is mandatory.
• Relocation to Brussels is required.
• The role follows a near-site working model.
