Orange Business is seeking a Data Ops Engineer to design, implement, and maintain data pipelines in cloud environments, working with clients across sectors. You will optimize end-to-end data lifecycles, ensure data quality, and drive automation using modern tooling.

You will collaborate with the Digital & Data team in a hybrid Brussels setting, mentoring others and contributing to training sessions. Excellent SQL/Python and strong communication in English, French or Dutch are valued.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, CS, Engineering, Business Engineering, Physics or related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience as Data/DevOps/Software Engineer.
• Strong SQL and Python knowledge.
• Experience with deployment/orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Airflow).
• Knowledge of data modelling and data-architecture concepts.

We handle diverse workloads, including batch and stream processing. By processing everyday terabytes of data that feed dashboards and web APIs, we empower Carrefour to leverage data-driven insights and support their business growth.
• Big Pharma International Company: Orange Business migrated a Drug Discovery Data Platform hosted on-premises from a Hadoop stack to Azure. During the migration, we improved various data flows to reduce processing time, implemented proactive data quality checks, and optimized the CI/CD pipelines. Our efforts resulted in a more efficient and reliable platform, allowing scientists to quickly and safely assess the potential of tested molecules for new drugs development.
• For Paradigm, Orange Business created a data platform and a unified set of tools for all public sector to conduct data projects, with a focus on Kubernetes and DevOps processes to enable self-service and standardization. We were able to handle many projects from all administrations, ranging from API management to data processing & analytics, as well as data science modelling.

What You’ll Do:

As Data Ops engineer, your role will involve developing, testing, and continuously deploying data solutions in cloud environments. Your expertise will help optimize data workflows, orchestrating end-to-end data lifecycles and ensuring efficient data pipeline operations for our clients across various sectors.

• Lead the Way: Use an analytical, data-driven approach to support business cases.
• Engage with Stakeholders and Get Creative: Work with clients and partners to design data pipelines and deliver insightful analytics while ensuring data integrity.
• Use your technical knowledge: implement effective solutions by leveraging top-notch technologies and automating key components of client’s infrastructure.
• Mentor and Collaborate: Possibility to give training in our Cloud and Data Academy or present advanced tech topics during Lunch & Learn session.

Your technical expertise:

• A master’s degree or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Engineering, Physics or any related field
• At least 3 years of relevant experience as a Data/DevOps/Software Engineer.
• A strong interest in data management (databases systems and ETL processes).
• Programming: A strong SQL and Python knowledge.
• Deployment and Orchestration: Experience working with deployment and orchestration technologies (i.e., Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Airflow, etc.).
• Data-Oriented Mindset: you possess a good knowledge of data modeling and data-architecture core concepts.

It is not a requirement, but other preferred qualifications would be:

• DevOps methodologies: Familiar with DevOps practices, automation tools, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Programming Concepts: Understanding of object-oriented programming concepts, data structures, and algorithms.
• Cloud and Data tools: Experience with a cloud provider or data processing tools (Databricks, Snowflake, Synapse, etc.)
