Arendt & Medernach seeks a Senior Data Management Officer to drive the Data Management Office, ensuring data quality and governance across Client, Payor and Matter master data. You will implement standardized controls, lifecycle processes and data enrichment while coordinating with ERP/CRM systems.

You will lead governance initiatives, validate data before entry, and mentor DMO staff, promoting accountability and continuous improvement across the firm.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent in finance operations, data governance, process management or a comparable field.
  • Significant experience in master data management, data quality, data governance, process excellence or cross‑functional operations.
  • Proven experience leading implementation, data clean‑up, operating model or transformation projects.
  • Ability to define standards, controls, KPIs, procedures and practical governance routines.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills with a pragmatic approach to implementation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills and ability to facilitate workshops across departments.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority while maintaining independence, objectivity and governance discipline.
  • Good understanding of ERP, CRM, compliance and finance data flows; knowledge of Elite is a strong asset.
  • Fluent in English; French and/or German are considered an asset

Responsabilités

  • Drive the design, rollout and continuous improvement of the DMO operating model, including scope, roles, controls, governance routines and interfaces with other departments.
  • Define, maintain and enforce firm-wide standards for Client, Payor, Matter and related master data, including validation rules, ownership principles and escalation paths.
  • Oversee the DMO contribution to the redesigned Central Business Intake process and ensure key information is validated before being introduced or amended in the firm’s systems.
  • Design and supervise centralised processes for entity lifecycle management in our ERP, including legal name changes, address changes, corporate actions, record inactivation, mergers and other third‑party data events.
  • Lead duplicate prevention, analysis and clean‑up initiatives, prioritising remediation backlogs and coordinating stakeholders to address root causes.
  • Structure and lead third‑party data enrichment activities, including VAT ID, EUID, business register ID and other identifiers for reliable operations, compliance, billing and reporting.
  • Coordinate with owners of satellite applications to ensure major master data changes are reflected across systems.
  • Lead or contribute to transformation projects impacting master data, including requirements definition, testing, deployment, adoption and post‑implementation follow‑up.
  • Create and maintain DMO procedures, working instructions, control checklists, data dictionaries, accountability matrices, training materials, KPIs and management reporting.
  • Coach DMO Officers, review complex cases and promote data accuracy, accountability and continuous improvement.

Senior Data Management Officer (DMO)
Your Role:

You will join the Data Management Office (DMO) and play a key role in driving its implementation, governance and continuous development. The DMO has a broader remit covering the quality, integrity and lifecycle management of Client, Payor, Matter and related master data across the firm. Your responsibilities include:

  • Driving the design, rollout and continuous improvement of the DMO operating model, including scope, roles, controls, governance routines and interfaces with other departments;
  • Defining, maintaining and enforcing firm-wide standards for Client, Payor, Matter and related master data, including validation rules, ownership principles and escalation paths;
  • Overseeing the DMO contribution to the redesigned Central Business Intake process and ensuring that key information is validated before being introduced or amended in the firm’s systems;

Your Profile:
  • You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or equivalent experience, in finance operations, data governance, process management, business transformation or a comparable field;
  • You have significant experience in master data management, data quality, data governance, process excellence or cross‑functional operations;
  • You have proven experience leading implementation, data clean‑up, operating model or transformation projects;
  • You are able to define standards, controls, KPIs, procedures and practical governance routines;
  • You combine strong analytical and documentation skills with a pragmatic approach to implementation;
  • You have excellent stakeholder management and communication skills and are comfortable facilitating workshops across departments;
  • You are able to influence without direct authority while maintaining independence, objectivity and governance discipline;
  • You have a good understanding of ERP, CRM, compliance and finance data flows; knowledge of Elite is a strong asset;
  • You are fluent in English; French and/or German are considered an asset
