Data Management Engineer at Dataroots helps organisations build data foundations they can rely on — and actually use. You’ll design, implement, and embed modern data management practices for real impact.

You’ll collaborate with clients and colleagues across tech, business, and governance to translate needs into scalable setups, train teams, and grow our data maturity in a fast-growing scale-up.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in Data Management, including data catalogs, data quality, and MDM.
• Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration across technical and business stakeholders.

As a Data Management Engineer at Dataroots, you help organisations build data foundations they can truly rely on - and actually use.

You work hands-on with clients to design, implement, and embed modern data management practices. From data quality frameworks and catalogs to governance processes that stick, you make sure data doesn’t just exist - it creates value.

This role sits at the intersection of technology, people, and process, in a scale-up environment where your ideas and initiative matter.

What you’ll do

Build data foundations that work

• Implement data quality frameworks, data catalogs, and master data solutions

• Ensure solutions are adopted, embedded, and used in daily operations

What you bring

You don’t need to match everything perfectly. If this role excites you and you recognise yourself in most of it.

• Hands-on experience in Data Management, including:

  • Data Catalogs (e.g. Collibra, Atlan, OpenMetadata, Zeenea)

  • Data Quality (e.g. Soda, Great Expectations, Monte Carlo)

  • Master Data Management (e.g. Ataccama, Informatica)

• Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions

• Confidence working with stakeholders at different levels

• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

• Solid software engineering basics (Git, Python, SQL)

• Fluent English and either Dutch or French

Nice to have (not required):

• Experience with Docker

• Building batch or streaming pipelines (Airflow, Prefect, Dagster)

• Knowledge of platforms like Databricks, Snowflake, Azure or AWS and their governance tooling
