Sopra Steria's Data Visualization Practice is seeking a Data Insights Consultant to bridge business needs and data solutions. You will translate reporting requirements into KPIs, design dashboards and collaborate with Power BI, data engineers and governance specialists.

In a hybrid model, you’ll work from home and on client sites, shaping analytics strategies, enabling self-service analytics and ensuring data-driven decisions across projects for diverse clients in Europe.

Qualifications

• Three years or more of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or analytics consulting.
• Experience translating business requirements into KPIs, user stories, and reporting logic.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI or another data visualization tool.
• Strong SQL skills to validate assumptions using data.
• Understanding of reporting concepts, data models and data quality.
• Ability to create intuitive dashboards and communicate insights to diverse stakeholders.
• Experience facilitating workshops and collaborating across levels in Agile environments.

Job Description

Join our Data & AI team.

You will become part of a multidisciplinary team where data engineering, architecture, AI, analytics, governance and visualization come together. Together, we help clients get more value out of their data: from setting up the right data foundations to building dashboards, analytics solutions and AI use cases that support better decisions.

As a Data Insights Consultant, you will contribute to this by helping clients translate business questions into clear KPIs, reporting requirements and actionable insights. You act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical data teams, ensuring that analytics solutions answer the right questions and create meaningful business value.

You gather and challenge business requirements, facilitate stakeholder workshops and translate reporting needs into user stories, KPI definitions, reporting logic and visual concepts. You use tools such as SQL and Power BI to explore data, validate assumptions and create reports or prototypes that make complex information understandable.

You work closely with Power BI Consultants, Data Engineers, Architects and Governance specialists to ensure that reporting solutions are reliable, feasible and aligned with the wider data landscape. Beyond individual dashboards, you also help clients improve reporting quality, develop self‑service analytics and increase the adoption of data‑driven ways of working.

Depending on the project, you will combine working from home and our offices with working at client sites. When matching you with a client assignment, we take your home location into account, with the aim of keeping your commute reasonable.

Qualifications

We’re looking for a Data Insights Consultant who combines strong analytical capabilities with a consulting mindset. You are comfortable working with business stakeholders and data, and you can translate complex or initially unclear questions into concrete analytics solutions.

You’ll have knowledge and experience of the following:

• You have at least 3 years of relevant experience in business intelligence, data analysis, business analysis, reporting or analytics consulting.
• You have experience gathering and translating business requirements into KPIs, user stories, reporting logic and functional requirements.
• You have hands‑on experience with Power BI or another data visualization tool.
• You have good SQL skills and can use data to validate assumptions and answer business questions.
• You understand reporting concepts, data models and the importance of data quality.
• You can create intuitive dashboards and communicate insights clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• You are comfortable facilitating workshops and collaborating with stakeholders across different levels of an organization.
• You have experience working in an Agile environment.
• Experience with Power BI Service, Microsoft Fabric, Tableau or self‑service analytics is a plus.
• You are proficient in English; knowledge of Dutch and/or French is a must.
